Kyrgyz Foreign Minister Erlan Abdyldaev said a Kyrgyz-born Russian citizen could possibly be a suspect in the Saint Petersburg metro attack, which took lives of 14 people and left dozens injured. The announcement was made at a joint press conference with his Russian counterpart Sergei Lavrov following their meeting in Moscow on Tuesday. SOT, Erlan Abdyldaev, Kyrgyz Foreign Minister (Russian): "Our State National Security Committee confirmed that according to preliminary reports, the suicide bomber was a Kyrgyz-born Russian citizen." SOT, Erlan Abdyldaev, Kyrgyz Foreign Minister (Russian): "As for possible connection [of the suspect if the Saint Petersburg metro blast] with the Islamic State, we must wait for the work being conducted by our special services; they will provide us with the full information on this issue. But it goes without saying that the situation that has been developing in many parts of the world stresses once again the necessity to strengthen this work." SOT, Sergei Lavrov, Russian Foreign Minister (Russian): "Terrorism and terrorists don't have a nationality and it is unacceptable trying to find any connection with a man's origin and his religious beliefs. Terrorism is a crime against the whole of humanity and against all world religions without exception. I'm convinced that the solidarity that we have seen, not only from our allies and CIS countries, but from almost all countries in the world, stresses the importance and necessity to finally unite our efforts, rather than trying to use one or another extremist for selfish geopolitical interests, as unfortunately still happens sometimes. SOT, Sergei Lavrov, Russian Foreign Minister (Russian): "Reports that have been coming from several mass media that you have just mentioned regarding the fact that the terror attack [in Saint Petersburg] is allegedly a revenge for Russia's policy in Syria, are just cynical and mean. I have nothing to add. Unfortunately it is not just a fiction of some mass media; several politicians including Pentagon officials within the Obama administration shared the same thoughts, when they predicted that if you came into Syria to help the Assad government, you had to wait for new coffins with bodies of Russian military officers that would flow to Russia. I believe that such words are not worth of a politician and I hope that in this situation, when terrorism threatens all without any countries exempt, such double standards won't take place." I along with a translator went to the polling stations to see what people had to say. Some of the government buildings where taken peacefully and some where taken violently. On May 1st the Ukraine Government began a ATO or Anti-Terrorism Operation to Regan control of the region. Since then Eastern Ukraine has descended into civil war. In Odessa there was a battle in the streets between Pro-Russian people and Pro-Ukrainian people. Three people where shot dead on the street and forty three Pro-Russians where burned alive after going into the occupied Trade Union building. At Least Three Ukrainian Military helicopters have been shot down in the Donbass/Donetsk region. There have been many People , unarmed civilians, Pro-Russian militia, and Ukrainian military, ether shot dead or tortured and killed in Mariupol, Donetsk, Sloviansk, Kramatorsk. and many other city's. People are dying literally everyday. Somewhere between one and two hundred people have been killed in the last week and a half. I wonder why after the most deadly 10 day period of the Ukrainian crisis the issue is not being covered by western media as heavily as it was before the civil war started. Investigators have named a suspect in the deadly explosion that tore through a metro train in St. Petersburg on Monday. TASS reports that the Russian Investigative Committee identified Kyrgyzstan-born Russian national Akbardjon Djalilov as the perpetrator who blew himself up in the St. Petersburg metro. A surveillance photo shows Djalilov walking through a metro station, carrying what was later found to be an incendiary device inside his backpack. He detonated the device around 2:40 p.m. inside a train car that was moving between the Tekhnologichesky Institut and Sennaya Ploshchad metro stations. Train driver Aleksandr Kaverin reportedly heard the blast, but followed protocol and continued on to the next station where passengers were let out. Fourteen people died as a result of the blast, with 49 others injured. A second, more powerful device with Djalilov’s DNA on it was found and defused at Ploshchad Vosstaniya station. It contained a kilo of TNT and ball bearings, and was hidden inside a fire extinguisher that was placed in a bag on the platform. A motive has yet to be established. No group has so far claimed responsibility for the massacre, which has been called a terrorist act by Russian prime minister Dmitry Medvedev, reports CNN. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Next Animation Studio’s News Direct service provides daily, high-quality, informative 3D news animations that fill in for missing footage and help viewers understand breaking news stories or in-depth features on science, technology, and health.
